Is inspriation a positive version of the word Influence?

People hate to be influenced. But they love to be inspired, don’t they?
People also reject to be an influencer but it’s o.k. for them to be an inspirer or the inspiration of something. Actually the word o.k. might not be o.k. enough to describe that.
What is the line that separating these two?
An intention maybe…
It’s claimed that the inspirer doesn’t have any specific goal in their intention in the process of inspiring.
An act of inspiring therefore becomes more of an open conversation or comes in a form of open end question. The audience can let their mind wander and think.
Yet I would argue that still the method of inspiring already eliminate certain potential outcomes or narrow it down
....Or even direct the attention of the listener to a certain path.
An act of Influencing in the other hand has clearer ends of what the influencer is trying to achieve. Does it?
Or is it just a heavier version and more intense of a word to use?

Some say influencer comes with authority....

It’s just something to think about.

Crying baby

I remember reading the book Maus by Art Speigelman. The book talks about his experience actually mostly his dad's experience from the Holocaust. It comes in a form of comic book which is extremely interesting. I never read anything this intense and expressed in such an easy form.

At one point the author imagined himself to be a kid when he was pressured by the reporters. They were attacking him about the book's criticism.

Professor Dale Carrico asked us why did that happened?
Why did the author drew himself in a smaller version when he was a kid. And as the story progresses when he returned to his day, his normal depressing day, he has to grow up. In another word he gets bigger.

I think I now know how he felt.

Allow me to illustrate it to you.
It's the moment that you're sad or down or pressured or disappointed...
It's the moment as a result of you've been working so hard for yourself but after all you realize you can't control everything.
There is something beyond your ability or decision.
It's the moment that you know what you want exactly but guess what you can't have it.
You wont' have it.
It's the same moment that you might feel tired and hopeless.

I know it's getting long but who cares it's my blog. I'll say whatever I want.
It's the moment that you feel out of place.
The moment that you think you might not belong here.
Moment that you realized you're not built or ready to face this yet.

The moment that you know you're not mature enough.

And the thing that you're facing hit you so hard.
That you just want to roll down on the floor... and keep crying...I want it this way!!!! Why things have to change!!!

Well little child...
Things always change.
And you know that.

Doesn't matter you try so hard to fix everything to make it the way it is.
People will change.

Even you yourself age everyday.
The you today and the you tomorrow never are the same.
You know that.

Lost kid

I thought I was doing multiple things these days.
It had just occurred to me that my MULTIPLE things were just multiple tasks and assignments and projects.

Having multiple things to do were suppose to be about having multiple goals in life.
Like being healthy and happy and rich....
Whatever...
whatever your goal is...

Right now I have one goal but a lot of different strategy. That would be the way to put it.
Yeah It's actually more like that.

It's just weird that how one can actually got occupied and forgot about what one actually wants.
When you're working on too many projects, to many tasks, I guess it happens.
Oh I know it's like the CEO in BA401 class that got occupied with day-to-day task that forgot about strategic work.
Guess what his company runs well on day - to - day basis!!!!
But not good enough I guess.

I actually don't know whether which one is worst.
Having a goal that you didn't reach
Or not having a goal at all...
But whatever

Let's continue

It's like you are so obsessed about your life or maybe your new school.
And you never actually miss your old friends.
And you thought you're tough. You're great. You know how to move on and say goodbye.

But then you run into your old buddy one day. And all the things hit you.

That is how I recognize my unsuccessful plan also.
I ran into my old friends. (by ran into I mean facebook chat)
And with her she brought back all the memory about my ex-life also.
It's not completely ex actually.
But it's certainly a past.
A happy past, indeed.

One more thing I get from this is how complex human mind is.
I'm scared these days about how much can I deceive myself.
How my defense mechanism work so well
And how much illusion I bring with it
To create my own world
That I am happy...
Alone
In my own way.

Dealing with failure

Sometimes, I want have to gain all the control over my life.

Sometimes, I realize that I can't.
And sometimes when I'm down. It's either I let myself down. Or someone else let me down...doesn't matter.
I just want to throw all the responsibility and all the control to others...
Others like god.

Suddenly, god exist to me.
That easily...

It's the process of externalizing the internality.
That makes sense though.
You probably don't want to internalize the bad stuff into you.

When I'm disappointed about something, my rationale goes like "maybe god got something better for me".

But when I want something, "I WANT THIS AND I"LL GET IT".
Did I consult with god whether he agrees or not?
No...

Then why on earth when I got the result of something I think comes from me...
I go like "you know what it's the plan from the man up there".

Isn't that just weird.
It's logically illogical.

Sometimes people have the self-protection system.
And I though mine was set very low...or in the inactive mode.
I thought I can't take failure that well.
I kinda prove to myself today that I actually pretty smart at taking failure.
I'm pretty smart. Smart enough to know that opportunity doesn't come to you. But as long as you stay active in life, your hope will never die off.

NEVER!

Diversify risk in your life

People are striving for perfection in society these days.
Being the person who makes the most salary on earth is not enough.
You need to make high salary, give money to charity, be the best lover, and stay attractive to your wife's friend at the same time.

I say "What the heck?". I said that a lot lately btw.

One mentioned to me about diversifying risk in lives.

You know the same basic idea. One thing crashes. Then you still have another hope waiting for you.
One more thing that you can rely on. Anotehr dream that you can still keep on dreaming.
And I've been thinking...trust me it's been in my head for more than a year already.
Thant's the reason that I used as an excuse to go on exchange program.
To diversify my interest...
To expose myself to more things....yeah right

But you know what I think I have another solution to this fear of failure....

Why not stop thinking so much about the ends?
Stop waiting and working toward only the ends!
And start living
Living with today. Then you will never regret. Enjoy every moment.
And you know what at the end you might have your goal and all that.
And if you didn't make it? So what? SO WHAT?
You already accomplish things through out your journey.

You didn't reach to the top? So what? You're still on the path.

And that's what you should be proud of. that's what you should be proud of. buddy

Where am I?

Sometimes you don't really know what you have got yourself into until you said it out loud.
Today I happened to say the following.

"I don't believe in setting priority for people. And judging their life goal based on my value". Or something along that line.

After a warm shower, I find that I'm doing exactly in the opposite.
I've been doing it for 5 weeks already.
I'm super excited about it everyday.
I totally fall in love with it.

I'm working for an advertising agency.

So basically I tell people why they should by the product.
In another word...What to think....

It might not be a total serious issue when you actually compare "Life goal" and "Buying decision".
Yet isn't it a hint of something?

Something I left it alone so long.

It was on my wall in Berkeley.

I'm being (again) a hypocrite.

line between inspiring and influencing

Ok if you've been reading my blog which I doubt that there will be anyone else besides me....
You will see that I pretty much have 2 types of entry.

1. Settled entry
2. Non-settled one

This is one of the non-settled one. I just write for the sake of finding the answer. So here we go!

It seems like inspiring is just a positive word for influencing.
How can you create exposure without framing people's mind?
I doubt that there's a way going around doing that.

You might argue that one can give suggestion without adding personal opinion or assigning personal value.
I would say....
That is hard because people enjoy talking about something they like and through their thinking process they already think through that it is the best decision. We have limited time to communicate. Therefore, we tend to filter information when we communicate with others. Yet this depends on a goal of communication.

Furthermore, you can influence by not only adding within your message but also the structure of the information. You can limit what kind of information you would like to give.
And as I said before "No one could know what's best for others".

It is hard for us to understand ourselves to justify our choice. Even worse we can't even make choice sometimes.
How on earth we would know what's best for others?
Our best choice comes from OUR best/worst experience we had in the past, OUR relationship, OUR behavior, etc.

On the other had, without taking any advice we waste our time doing the same mistakes that might occurred....or not maybe not occurred who knows.
It's about taking chance, isn't it?

But screw that we don't want to get into that.
We're trying to find a line between inspiring and influencing.
How can you inspiring without influencing?

Or maybe you can't?
maybe it depends on the individual not to be so sensitive about things.
Not to get influence...

Violence

Violence can be done so many ways.

Yet today I want to express my opinion in verbal/mental violence not physical.
I'm not such an expert in that.

But after taking
Sales & persuasion/ Argumetative writing and reasoning/ and public speaking
I pretty much know or at least understand the mentality of influencing

What gives a person a right to influence others.
Right now I see none....

If different human values different things. They are from different background.
To persuade someone to believe that your point or argument is better or the ONE should be hold, is a total violence.

But it's the world of influencing, isn't it?
And the one who hunts for power tries to influence their prey.

It's not about the ends. It is about the means. That's wrong.

What's wrong with failure?

It is quite true that a person learns better through their failure.

At least that is what i hold.

But why people/i still scare of failing?

1. I rarely fail. Therefore naturally it's scary to go through something not normally occured.
2. Failing = losing and losing sucks
3. There's not that many opportunities for you to screw up.
4. It's a chance to be run over. You missed a chance. You won't catch up with others.

There are probably tons of reasons why people/i are scared.

But i guess it's not a jusifiable excuse for doing nothing.
For not taking risk...
For not moving on...to something new
some new things

I guess it's not.

Or else humanity probably goes nowhere.

Educated

The more you grow. The more you think.

The more you think. The more you learn.

The more you learn. The more you realize.

The more you realize. The more you see the constraint.

The more you see the constraint. The less you learn.

The less you learn. The less you think.

But the less you think doesn't make you younger, does it.

It just makes you an old person who doesn't have any imaginary left.

What's in its place is REALITY

Driver or Driven

It's a bless to have a drive in you.

It's great to have energy within you all the time.

A drive can make people go only so far.

Sometimes it's too far that make the person knows that he/she is driven with the full speed but no one is behind the steering wheel.

What happen when you drive fast without direction?

It's a never end competition.
It's a light speed tunnel.
And by its nature, you know it doesn't have ending point.

It's a bless to have a drive in you.
But I think people pray that they know the reason of being.

It's great to have energy within you all the time.
But it's better to have a goal as your guide.

A drive can make people go only so far.
But it's not that far when you know you're going to the wrong direction.

no one is not none.

Current mood: blessed
I'm still trying to figure out what's so great about this country.

Is it because everything is so new to me?
Is it because the people who appear to be so friendly and helpful?
Is it because their American system?
Or is it because it's the land of opportunity for real?

Why life is so enjoyable here?

4 months ago, I kept banging my head against the wall, asking myself, why the hell I'm doing this?

Why give up being someone to be no one?

And I thought all the things I carried with me all the time...
All the things I fight for was so great...
And I thought I should never give those things up...for something I don't know.

I thought being SOMEONE is the most important thing in life.
Being recognized by friends, family, and others
I carried that egoism with me all the time.

And I thought that was greatest thing.
Saddest thing, I thought that's what life is all about.

Well now I know that it's not.

This might not be final answer for "why life is so great here?"
But for now I think it's great because I'm being no one.
I do whatever I want...
No worries...

I'm here for finding who I am...before I lose my identity.
Well I'm on the way there...
